Personally, I have suffered with sleep apnea for over 10 years. For years I suffered from daily fatigue as the result of poor nights of sleep along with my loud snoring that drove my family nuts! I finally underwent a home sleep study showing an AHI number of 77 which is consistent with severe sleep apnea. Yet, I never pursued treatment because of not wanting to deal with a CPAP device.
I found out about Dental Medical Providers in Sacramento and their oral device for the treatment of sleep apnea that is based on a jaw advancement principle. This really caught my interest and I was evaluated and fitted for an appliance. The results have been nothing short of spectacular!
The evaluation process was simple, professional, yet thorough. The device fits comfortably and I had no problem adapting to it. I not only slept better, but my snoring disappeared completely, even when I sleep on my back which beforehand I never dared to do. My daytime fatigue disappeared. A follow-up sleep study showed by AHI had dropped to 11, a result net even seen with CPAP machines.

I wanted to take this opportunity to comment about Dental Medicine Providers and their treatment for snoring and sleep apnea. I have found their oral appliance therapy to be very effective for my patients’ and myself. Yes, I am a patient too.
Their treatment protocol is the best I have found not only for the patient but also for the referring doctor. The details they incorporate to make sure that the final results are optimum for each patient are indeed outstanding. The feedback I receive from my patients about how they are treated is always positive. As far as I’m concerned, Dental Medicine Providers has set the standard for this type of effective treatment.

She knew my problems with my CPAP machine, especially during travel. At any rate I met with the team at No More Snoring and soon was fitted for an oral appliance. The care I received was exceptional. My transition to the appliance was remarkably smooth. I am now sleeping better than I ever imagined. The device is comfortable with minimal structural or functional interference.

I am a Sleep Specialist MD and a sleep apnea patient myself. I was struggling with CPAP discomfort for two years, and then I came across Dental Medicine Providers. They did extensive diagnostic evaluation of my airways, jaws, and teeth. I ended up getting a custom fitted dental oral appliance. I have been using it for over two years now, and have no side effects. I took another sleep study using the appliance; the results indicated my apnea is adequately controlled. I do not snore any more, and I have reclaimed my daytime alertness.
Based on my own personal experience, I have referred over 100 sleep apnea patients to Dental Medicine Providers. Just like myself, my patients have responded very well. Based on the success, patient compliance, and minimum side effects, I often encourage my patients to go for oral appliance therapy as first choice if they have mild to moderate sleep apnea. For patients with severe sleep apnea, if they failed with CPAP, I send them for oral appliance therapy.
DMP’s service is unique in the following domains: comprehensive evaluation including cephalometrics, dental and airway imaging. These tests are meticulous details of measurements to make the appliance fit right. Most importantly, follow up monitoring for occlusal changes, tooth movement, and TMJ symptoms, if any.
The Doctors at DMP are also experts in managing TMJ with or without oral appliances, thus they are able to adjust the appliance for maximal therapeutic benefit yet minimizing side effects.

I had used a CPAP machine for over 5 years. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea after falling asleep on the job and my son complaining that it scared him when I snored so loud at night. The CPAP machine was a horrible fit for me.
It dried out my nose and throat. It blew air in my eyes and even caused me to see a Neurologist when my olfactory gland was being irritated and affected my sense of smell.I travel a lot and lugging the CPAP was just plain cumbersome and in I found I could not use it in my travels to Africa. I fought with the mask and pillows to find something comfortable to wear to no avail and found myself ripping the mask off and fighting to stay awake.
I was introduced to the Oral Appliance in December of 2009 and I can tell you from the very first night of use I had a good night sleep and was full of energy the next day. Still today 5 years later, I sleep well and wake up rested and full of energy.

I can’t believe how wonderful this appliance is…I never slept more than 1 hour at a time without waking up. I now sleep all night. In the last 9 months I have reduced my blood pressure medication by 75% and have lost over 40 pounds!
I wake up refreshed and feel I am really sleeping for the first time in years. By far the best investment I have made for my health in a long time… Thanks.
